In this episode, I unpack why we so often fall into research rabbit holes that feel like progress but rarely produce real results—and how to step out of them with one simple boundary. I share a practical rule you can use today: if it doesn’t produce a result you can save, stop. We explore the difference between relief and progress, the lure of novelty versus the steadiness of growth, and how to create momentum with clear outcomes, short timers, and one tangible result at a time. Along the way, I reflect on James 1:22 and Ecclesiastes 11:4, and offer a compassionate reminder that you’re not broken—you’re human—and small, real steps are enough.

I close with a weekly practice: before you research anything, set a 15–20 minute timer and write, “What file will exist when I’m done?” If you can’t answer in one sentence, that’s a rabbit hole. When the timer ends, either save a concrete result (a file, checklist, or first draft) or stop—and write, “Today I chose movement over relief.” We’ll tackle pain days next time, so you have a plan when your body won’t cooperate.
